Hello world!

My name is Megan, and welcome to my modest blog about my modest house! Join me on the journey of bringing my home into the 21st century while staying faithful to its mid-century roots.

I have a great team of architects from Takt Studio for Architecture and builders from North East Building Group here in the Illawarra helping me to realise my (very long held) dream of taking my little 1963 home and transforming it. I think of it as ‘the same but better’ because we’re keeping as much of the mid-century flavour as possible while also updating it to work much more effectively for the future.

On this blog I’ll be describing how the work’s progressing, as well as the fun times I’m having sourcing genuine fittings and other items. As those of you that live in Australia and are into this kind of scene will no doubt appreciate it can be an uphill battle to find such things, and I’m hoping that here I can come up with some pointers/hints that can help.
